Sabarimala gold theft case: SIT searches main suspect's house
The Sabarimala temple gold theft case just took a big turn—on Saturday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) searched the home of Unnikrishnan Potty, the main suspect, in Thiruvananthapuram.
They were looking for clues like documents and digital devices that could help trace the missing gold.
Potty is currently in SIT custody and is being questioned about the stolen gold and any possible partners in crime.
Kerala High Court is monitoring the investigation
The Kerala High Court is closely watching the investigation, which centers on gold missing from the temple's Dwarapalaka idols and Sreekovil doorframes.
The SIT told the court they need more time to question Potty to find out who else might be involved.
Meanwhile, BJP worker Sinu S Panicker has been charged for allegedly assaulting Potty outside the court—these are bailable charges, and the police are still looking into it.
The SIT is also checking if others are linked to the theft.
