Sabarimala Temple's revenue jumps 33% in just 15 days

India

Sabarimala Ayyappa temple in Kerala pulled in ₹92 crore during the first half of its pilgrimage season—up 33% from last year's ₹69 crore for the same period.
The spike comes as more pilgrims visited and snapped up aravana (the temple's signature sweet), according to the Travancore Devaswom Board.

What fueled this record growth?

Aravana sales shot up to ₹47 crore, nearly 47% higher than last year. Donations in the temple hundi ('kanikka') also grew by over 18%, reaching ₹26 crore.
With around 13 lakh visitors already, and the season running till January, Sabarimala continues to attract a significant number of pilgrims.
