2 terrorists holed up in DPS Srinagar killed, DPS sealed-off
2 terrorists were shot in an encounter with the Armed forces in Delhi Public School (DPS), Srinagar. Terrorists injured 3 army personnel including a captain-level officer in the encounter. The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the assault. Drone cameras and other hi-tech gadgets were employed to determine the position of the terrorists and the school was sealed-off.
Terrorists attack CRPF then hide in DPS Srinagar premises
Terrorists carried out an attack on the CRPF jawans stationed on road opening duty near the DPS school on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. In the attack that took place in the high-security zone near the Army's Chinar Corps headquarters, 1 jawan was killed and 1 injured. The terrorists then entered the school premises after carrying out an attack on CRPF personnel.
Munshibagh to Sempora stretch put under restrictions
Authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar under section 144 CrPc from Ram Munshibagh to Sempora range of the national highway as a safety measure to avoid demonstrations near the conflict site.
Terrorists planning to blow up DPS Srinagar: DGP Vaid
On the occasion of the wreath laying of the martyred jawan, Director General of state Police SP Vaid said that the terrorists inside the DPS Srinagar school planned to blow up the school. He said that they planned this so that children in the valley abandon their studies. He said that the Army was cordoning off the area to ensure minimum collateral damage.
