"Tiranga Yaad Dila Raha Ki...": Shubhanshu Shukla's space message
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla just made history as the first Indian to reach the International Space Station (ISS).
He launched with SpaceX's Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, alongside crewmates from the US, Poland, and Hungary.
An ISRO scientist and Air Force pilot, Shukla called this a "solid and steady" step toward India's Gaganyaan mission in 2025.
Shukla's message from space
After a 28-hour journey, Shukla docked at the ISS and began his experiments.
He sent an emotional message in Hindi, inviting everyone back home to join his adventure through photos and videos from space.
His mission is part of both NASA's human spaceflight program and India's growing ambitions beyond Earth.
How to spot the ISS
The ISS zips around Earth at speeds exceeding 17,000km per hour and looks like a bright dot moving quickly across the sky at dawn or dusk.
If you want to catch it overhead, you can use tools available online for local viewing times—maybe you'll see where history is happening!
