UP man impersonating cop arrested for exploitation

India

In Muzaffarnagar, a man named Naushad Tyagi (also known as Rahul Tyagi) was arrested for pretending to be a police constable.
He allegedly gained a woman's trust by posing as an officer, then established a sexual relationship with her under the false promise of marriage and extorted large sums of money and gold jewelry from her.

Accused may have targeted other women too

After the victim came forward and filed a complaint, police arrested Tyagi and registered a case under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for fraud, impersonation, intimidation, and cheating.
Officers found a fake uniform and nameplate with him.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar, Tyagi may have targeted other women too—the investigation is ongoing to identify more victims.
