Uttarakhand: Himachal Roadways bus falls into gorge, rescue operations on
What's the story
A Himachal Roadways bus carrying over 30 passengers fell into a gorge on the Kwanu-Meenus Road in Kalsi, Dehradun district, Uttarakhand, on Tuesday, ANI reported. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is currently conducting rescue operations. SDRF Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi has also sent teams from Dakpathar, Chakrata, Mori, and Tyuni to assist in the rescue efforts.

CM Dhami speaks to District Magistrate
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also intervened in the matter. He spoke to the District Magistrate and directed prompt rescue operations. "We have received the extremely distressing news of the accident involving a bus of Himachal Transport Corporation on Kuanu-Meens Motor Road in Kalsi area (Dehradun)," he wrote on X. "Upon receiving information about the accident, I spoke with the District Magistrate over the phone and issued necessary instructions."
Medical preparedness
Passengers to be airlifted if required
CM Dhami further added, "The district administration and police have promptly initiated relief and rescue operations. All nearby medical centers have been placed on high alert mode." He also assured that seriously injured passengers would be airlifted to advanced medical facilities if required. "I pray to God for the safe well-being of all passengers," he concluded.
