Video of Vande Bharat sleeper train doing 180km/h goes viral
The new Vande Bharat sleeper train recently completed a high-speed trial at 180km/h, and a video of the ride is blowing up online.
People are amazed that three glasses of water on the table didn't even budge during the run.
It's all part of Indian Railways's push to make long-distance travel faster and comfier.
Train's launch delayed to mid-2026
While everyone's talking about the smooth ride, some folks are worried about how safe those speeds really are—especially when it comes to braking or emergencies.
The train was supposed to launch in October 2025 but now it's expected mid-2026 for the first maintenance facility due to design tweaks.
When it finally rolls out, expect 16 coaches with over 800 sleeping berths, upgraded safety tech like Kavach 4.0, USB ports, CCTV cameras, and better facilities for differently-abled passengers.
