Voter list revision for Gujarat Assembly polls underway

India

The Election Commission of India (ECI) visited Gujarat to review the ongoing revision of the state's voter list for the 2027 Assembly elections.
Right now, there are over 5 crore registered voters, according to Chief Electoral Officer Hareet Shukla.
This whole process is about making sure everyone who's eligible gets a say when it's time to vote.

ECI officials training local teams to improve voter outreach

To boost participation, ECI officials are guiding local teams on better ways to connect with voters and hand out registration forms smoothly.
So far, forms for over 5 crore people have been printed and more than 1 crore have already reached voters.
Plus, eight Municipal Commissioners have been given extra duties to help ramp up voter engagement across the state.
