YouTuber Rahul Easwar sent to 14-day judicial custody

India

YouTuber Rahul Easwar has been remanded in police custody until Thursday after allegedly revealing the identity of a rape survivor linked to a case involving Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil.
He's facing serious charges, including violating privacy, criminal intimidation, defamation, and outraging the survivor's modesty through social media posts.

Investigation hurdles and more accused

Easwar reportedly refused to share passwords for his devices, which police say are key to their investigation.
Authorities claim his online actions led to targeted social media attacks against the survivor.
The court is still hearing related bail pleas, while cyber police are tracking down more supporters involved in the case.
Other accused include political figures like Sandeep Warrier, Renjitha Pulickan, and lawyer Deepa Joseph.
