Mumbai: Indrani Mukerjea rushed to JJ hospital, drug overdose suspected

Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea, arrested for allegedly murdering her daughter Sheena Bora, was admitted yesterday to JJ Hospital in a 'drowsy' state. The 46-year-old was brought in from Byculla jail, where she's currently lodged, at around 11.15 PM and was admitted in the CCU. Her blood samples have been sent for testing and she is stable now, said SD Nanandkar, Dean of JJ hospital.
Indrani was brought here in disoriented condition. Tests have been done. Preliminary tests point towards poisoning/drug overdose. We're waiting for reports: SD Nanandkar, Dean of JJ Hospital where Indrani Mukerjea, accused in Sheena Bora murder case, was admitted last night.

Sanjay Surase, medical superintendent (health facility), said that Indrani is stable compared to the state she was admitted in and that she has undergone tests like CT scan, MRI scan, liver and kidney function tests. This is not the first time Indrani is in the hospital. She was admitted twice in October'15, once when she collapsed in prison and then when her platelets dropped.
Indrani was arrested in August'15 for allegedly murdering Sheena in 2012, taking help from ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai, who later deposed in court and flashed everything about the sensational case. Her third husband ex-media tycoon Peter Mukerjea was allegedly part of that conspiracy too and was subsequently arrested. The case was being handled by Mumbai Police, but was later transferred to CBI.
