Mumbai University results: Absent student gets 21 marks in exam
As the Mumbai University continues to face criticism for delaying the results, yet another shocking incident surfaced! A third-year LLB student at Government Law College under MU claimed she secured 21 marks in an exam she never took. She appeared for the sixth-semester in Apr'17, but missed the Indian Penal Code paper; surprisingly, several students who were present had been marked absent. Know more!
Recently, the University of Mumbai (MU) had informed the Bombay HC that it was "striving" to finish assessing the answer sheets and upload results of all the undergraduate examinations on its website by 6 September 2017. After missing a series of deadlines, MU has pushed the result announcement date for the sixth time from the original 31 July deadline.
Three final-year law students filed a petition seeking monetary compensation from Mumbai University for students who endured much agony and missed out on many higher-education opportunities due to the delay in their undergraduate results. Petitioners said statutory rules mandate MU must announce results of any examination within a 45-day period of its completion and new academic sessions commence latest by 1 August every year.
