#IndiaDecidesOnDec11: TRS establish strong lead; Congress falling behindLast updated on Dec 11, 2018, 10:56 am
Vote counting has begun in the southern state of Telangana, and early trends indicate that the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is cruising towards a comfortable victory.
At the time of writing, the TRS was leading in 86 seats, as opposed to the Congress-TDP alliance's lead in 22 seats.
The BJP, so far, has a lead in four seats.
Exit polls had predicted a clear win for TRS
Exit polls had earlier predicted that KCR would successfully secure a second term in Telangana, with a clear majority.
Early trends indeed indicate the same, and TRS should easily secure a majority as the day progresses.
The voting for the state, held on December 7, had seen a 73.20% voter turn out.
