Robert Vadra's mother's security detail stripped off

Times Now reported that Robert Vadra's mother's security cover has been withdrawn by the Modi government. The Delhi Police had been in service of Mrs. Maureen Vadra for years as her personal security cover. Previously, on 10 May Vadra had lashed out at media for the reports over his mother's security being taken away. He said that this was "journalism at its worst".

Gandhi-Nehru family's fall from favour- Royalty no more

In May 2017, the Delhi HC refused to stay income tax (I-T) proceedings in the National Herald case against the Gandhis. Robert Vadra too is under scanner for making illegal profits to the tune of Rs. 500 million in 2008. Robert Vadra was also removed off the 'no frisking' list in 2015. Even Priyanka's property deal from 2010 is currently under government scanner.

Crores of taxpayers money spent on Maureen Vadra's security

A report revealed that Robert Vadra's mother had been provided security of 6 personnel since 2004. The security was given after the Congress defeated the BJP in elections and what's more is that it was being provided without MHA's approval. The security was arranged at lower police levels hence the Ministry of Home Affairs wasn't notified. The cover was provided without any threat perception.

Rs. 10crore spent in 10 years on Mrs. Vadra's security

Since ten years, almost Rs. 10 crore was spent on Maureen Vadra's 24/7 security by 6 guards at her posh residence.

Why did Modi government continue providing the security, Congress asks

After the reports of Maureen Vadra's security came out, the Congress party shifted the onus of explanation on Modi government. Congress said that the Narendra Modi government should justify "why such security provisions were allowed to continue." Moreover, they said that the NDA government had provided security to "industrialists, powerful corporate brokers and politicians with very interesting background".

Maureen Vadra also accused for misappropriation of funds, evading taxes

Maureen Vadra has also been accused of misappropriation of funds in various land deals. These deals also directly involve Robert Vadra. Her companies have been accused of evading large sums of taxes and have been under the Enforcement Directorate's scanner since long.
