Amaravati Quantum Valley cools dilution refrigerator to 4 Kelvin
Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) has managed to cool its dilution refrigerator down to 4 Kelvin (that's -269°C!) at its Quantum Reference Facility in Amaravati.
This is a huge deal for India's quantum scene, since it lets researchers test out superconducting devices and other tech needed for things like quantum computers and next-gen sensors.
Basically, this fridge helps scientists test superconducting devices, quantum sensors, cryogenic electronics, single-photon detectors, and related quantum technologies at four Kelvin.
AQV supports Andhra Pradesh quantum industry
This milestone is part of Andhra Pradesh's push to build a local quantum hardware industry, with nearly 85% of the components required for quantum computing infrastructure potentially able to be developed within India.
Quantum Reference Facilities at Medha Towers in Amaravati and at a private college in Andhra Pradesh in April 2026, giving startups and researchers space to develop new ideas.
With support from the National Quantum Mission and the Department of Science and Technology, AQV is helping turn the "Made in Amaravati for the World" vision into reality, one super-cold fridge at a time.
