Ananth Technologies to build India's 1st privately developed communication satellite
Big news for India's space scene: Ananth Technologies is building AnanthSat-1, the country's first privately developed communication satellite.
Launching in 2029, it'll deliver over 100 Gbps of bandwidth to boost internet, online education, and telemedicine, especially for people in remote areas.
Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, the chairman and managing director of Ananth Technologies and the president of the Satcom Industry Association - India (SIA-India), shared the announcement at the India Space Congress, calling it a big step for private space players.
AnanthSat-1 to use Ka band technology
AnanthSat-1 will orbit at 89 degrees east and use Ka band tech for faster data speeds, much needed as India's satellite bandwidth demand keeps rising.
It'll also help with telemedicine and education services, plus support communications for the armed forces.
The satellite will be assembled and tested in India before flying on an Indian rocket, showing how much homegrown talent is shaping the country's future in space.
