ASUS launches Zenfone Max Pro M1 smartphone starting Rs. 10,999
ASUS has globally launched its Zenfone Max Pro M1 budget smartphone. The USP of the phone is its mammoth 5,000mAh battery. The 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant of the phone is priced at Rs. 10,999 and the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 12,999. The device will start selling on Flipkart from May 3.
The phone sports a 6-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It features sunlight legibility under maximum brightness. At the back, it sports a circular fingerprint sensor on the upper middle side. The phone has curved corners and a 2.5D curved glass on the screen. ASUS has interestingly stayed away from notches and bezel-less screens.
With a 5,000mAh battery, the phone can last for over 24 hours on a single charge. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor which is a powerful Kyro technology-based chipset. The phone runs the Android Oreo 8.1 operating system.
The Zenfone Max Pro M1 has a dual rear camera setup with 13MP and 5MP sensors, and an 8MP front camera. It features the Bokeh effect that can blur the out-of-focus parts of an image. The camera app is powered by Snapdragon instead of ZenUI, ASUS' proprietary camera technology. This new interface reportedly has easy access to camera modes, filters, and other beautification settings.
A higher variant of the phone will also be rolled out later for Rs. 14,999. It will include upgradations like 6GB RAM, a 16MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup, and a 16MP front camera.
Asus recently entered into a strategic partnership with Flipkart, under which the two companies will co-create India-specific products. The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is the first device to come out of the partnership. Under the collaboration, Flipkart will be the premium sales partner for Asus smartphones and will also help the smartphone maker market its devices in the country.
