What's the story

As the successor to its popular ZenFone Max Pro M1, ASUS is gearing up to launch the ZenFone Max Pro M2 in India. In an official teaser, the company has confirmed that the upcoming mid-ranger will launch in India on December 11 as Flipkart-exclusive. Moreover, the M2 will feature a notched display with Gorilla Glass 6 protection and dual rear-camera. Here's our roundup.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2: At a glance

Up front, the phone will feature a notched display with a slim bottom bezel - a depart from its predecessor's conventional notch-free display. On the back, the new glass chassis will house a dual rear-camera setup and fingerprint sensor. Further, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 will feature a 6.0-inch full-HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

The recently leaked hands-on video not only confirms the presence of a dual rear-camera setup but also leaks its specifications. The phone will sport a 12MP (f/1.8) Sony IMX486 primary sensor with PDAF and EIS, paired with a 5MP depth camera and an LED flash module. Up front, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 will have a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper with LED flash.

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 64GB of expandable storage. In comparison, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 supports Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. Further, like its predecessor, the M2 is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery, support dual SIMs, and run stock Android.

Everything we know about the ASUS ZenFone Max M2

ASUS is also expected to introduce the ZenFone Max M2 (successor to ZenFone Max M1) alongside Pro M2. According to leaks, the Max M2 model will feature a wider display cut-out than the Pro variant and a metal back. Further, the M2 model will come with a full-HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, and a dual rear-camera (specs unknown).
