Blue Origin's NS-37: Making space history with inclusion
Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket is set to launch its 37th mission on December 18, sending six people past the edge of space.
Among them is aerospace engineer Michaela (Michi) Benthaus, who's about to become the first wheelchair user in space—a big step for accessibility.
The quick trip launches from West Texas at 9:30am EST and lasts just 10-12 minutes.
Meet the crew
This flight brings together a pretty varied group: investor Joey Hyde, aerospace engineer and former SpaceX vice president Hans Koenigsmann, entrepreneur Neal Milch, investor Adonis Pouroulis, and self-proclaimed "space nerd" Jason Stansell join Benthaus.
They'll all get a few minutes of weightlessness and see Earth against the blackness of space.
How to watch
Want to catch this milestone live? Blue Origin will stream the launch online about 40 minutes before liftoff—open for everyone to watch as history gets made.
The mission patch highlights each crew member's story and Blue Origin's push for more accessible space travel.
