Comet C/2026 A1 (MAPS) to approach Sun on April 4
Technology
Heads up, skywatchers! A newly discovered comet called C/2026 A1 (MAPS) is about to swing super close to the sun on April 4, 2026.
If it survives this fiery trip, you might spot it glowing in the western sky in India just after sunset between April 5 and April 10.
The catch? Its survival isn't guaranteed: it all depends on whether it makes it past the sun's heat.
North or west India best views
Your best shot at seeing Comet MAPS is from northern or western India, away from city lights and under clear skies.
Just look west right after dusk for your chance at a rare cosmic show.
NASA and other space agencies are tracking its journey closely (fingers crossed for a good view!)
