Dark matter follows same gravitational rules as everything else: Study
Technology
A new study just confirmed that dark matter—the mysterious stuff making up most of our universe—actually follows the same gravitational rules as everything else.
Scientists looked at how galaxies move using data from the Dark Energy Survey and found that dark matter behaves just like Einstein's theory predicts.
Researchers also looked at the possibility of 5th force
Researchers also wondered if there might be a hidden "fifth force" out there, beyond gravity and the other forces we know.
According to lead author Nastassia Grimm of the University of Portsmouth, if this extra force exists, it must be super weak—less than 7% as strong as gravity—or we'd have noticed it by now.
For now, gravity remains the dominant force according to current observations.
