Dutch engineers unveil RunSafePro vest with radar, GPS on Kickstarter
Dutch engineers just dropped RunSafePro, a smart vest made for runners and anyone who loves the outdoors.
It's packed with radar detection, GPS alerts, and adaptive lighting to help you stay visible and safe while running, cycling, or hiking.
Announced today (June 18, 2026), it's crowdfunding on Kickstarter.
Emergency button, motion alerts, 360-degree lighting
RunSafePro's rear radar spots anything approaching from up to 30 meters away and gives you alerts through vibrations or sounds.
There's an emergency button: one tap silently notifies your primary contacts and instantly shares your GPS location with emergency contacts; two taps activate a loud alarm and notify all of your emergency contacts.
If you suddenly stop moving and don't respond, the motion sensor checks in by sending a notification on your phone or smartwatch, and if you don't respond within a certain amount of time, it notifies your primary emergency contacts.
The vest is reflective with 360-degree lighting for low-light visibility, fits all sizes (S-XXL), works with iOS and Android devices and eSIM smartwatches, and has storage for essentials.
Early backers can grab it for $119 (retail will be $175), with shipping expected in October if funding succeeds.
