These earbuds allow paralyzed users to interact with devices 'telepathically'

    What's the story

NAQI Logix, a Canada-based tech company, has introduced the NAQI Neural Earbuds.

They are designed to transform subtle facial and head movements into digital commands, offering users a way to control devices without surgery or traditional input methods, just like telepathy.

This groundbreaking technology opens up new possibilities for individuals with physical disabilities, enabling them to control their digital world more independently.

    Technology

    How do these earbuds work?

The NAQI Neural Earbuds employ a combination of gyroscopes and biosensors to detect minute movements such as blinking, jaw clenching, or slight changes in ear canal pressure.

The gyroscopic sensors offer accurate data on head position and movement. Meanwhile, the biosensors can pick up on tiny muscle movements and air pressure changes.

This advanced technology is protected by over 21 patents worldwide.

    Interface

    NAQI's 'Invisible User Interface'

The earbuds' functionality is powered by NAQI's "Invisible User Interface," a system that translates these minute movements into patterns corresponding to specific commands.

The interface is activated by an initial movement or "primer," followed by subsequent small movements that navigate through a multi-dimensional command menu.

This allows users to execute various commands with just a few subtle, hard-to-notice movements.

    Impact

A game-changer for people with disabilities

For individuals with paralysis/limited mobility, the NAQI Neural Earbuds are more than just a gadget - they're a gateway to greater independence.

Users can type at speeds of up to 45 characters every minute using just the earbuds, and even play computer games and use complex simulations like in-flight simulators.

The earbuds also permit users to communicate silently and invisibly using preset words, sentences, and paragraphs.

    Recognition

    A revolution in digital interaction

The innovative potential of the NAQI Neural Earbuds has been recognized by the TIME magazine as one of the 'Best Inventions of 2023.'

The firm also received the Gold Edison Award for social and cultural impact this year, and won the "Innovative Tech" category in the TWICE VIP Awards 2024.
