Google Chrome faces another major security flaw

Google just pushed out an emergency update for Chrome after finding a serious security hole (CVE-2025-6554).
This bug lets hackers take control of your device through shady websites, putting your data and even your whole system at risk.
The issue comes from Chrome's V8 engine, which powers millions of browsers worldwide.

TL;DR

Check if you're running a vulnerable version of Chrome

If you're using an older version of Chrome (before 138.0.7204.96 on Windows, 138.0.7204.92/.93 on Mac, or 138.0.7204.92 on Linux), you're vulnerable.
Google's team spotted the problem on June 25 and has since rolled out a fix.

How to update Chrome on your computer

Don't wait—open Chrome, tap the three dots in the top right corner, go to Help > About Google Chrome, and let it update itself.
Restart the browser when it's done to lock in the fix and keep your info safe!
