Google integrates customizable Gemini chatbots into Workspace apps
Google just rolled out "Gems," its new customizable Gemini AI chatbots, right inside Workspace apps like Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Gmail.
Now you can get AI help for specific tasks without leaving your workflow or opening another app.
Set up gems for specific roles
You can set up Gems for roles like copywriting or sales and even upload files for more personalized help.
Creating your own Gem is easy—just use the side panel or head to gemini.google.com/gems/create.
Both custom and ready-made Gems support @-mentions and file access to keep things productive.
There are pre-made options for editing text, coding, outreach, and more.
Available for Google Workspace Business and Enterprise plans
Gems are included at no extra cost with Google Workspace Business and Enterprise plans starting January 2025.
The rollout began July 2 and should reach everyone in about two weeks.
