Google Maps now shows speed limits, accident-prone zones in India
Technology
Google Maps just rolled out a new safety feature in Gurugram, highlighting speed limits and accident-prone zones on 129 major roads.
Built with help from the city's traffic police, these real-time alerts are designed to cut down on crashes and help drivers stay safe behind the wheel.

The feature focuses on high-risk areas like NH-48, Dwarka Expressway, Sohna Road, and Golf Course Extension Road—places where accidents happen most.
With 345 road deaths already this year in Gurugram, the hope is that these alerts will encourage safer driving.
The Gurugram traffic police plan to expand this to over 200 roads soon.
Meanwhile, local police are stepping up enforcement with tech like ANPR cameras and drones for even safer travel.
