Google Phone app gets Material 3 redesign on Wear OS
Technology
Google just rolled out a big redesign for its Phone app on Wear OS, swapping out the old list view for a colorful Recents feed with Material 3-style.
Now, you get two big buttons up top to quickly jump to your contacts or open the dialer.
The update is part of version 165 and works on Wear OS 6 and 7 watches.
Contacts added via keyboard and voice
The dial pad now rocks Material 3-themed containers and still lets you scroll for special characters like # and +.
Over in the Contacts app, you can add people right from your watch using keyboard or voice search.
Plus, contact photos show up on the left with quick-call or message buttons nearby, and there's a redesigned favorites grid, especially handy if you're using something like the larger Pixel Watch.
