Google to expand parental controls to all Android 17 devices
Technology
Google said its parental controls will be available on every device running Android 17, not just Pixels.
Now, parents will be able to set daily screen time limits, schedule automatic device downtime, and block app downloads based on content ratings, through Android Settings with a direct route to Family Link setup.
Android settings groups parental controls
Settings are now grouped in one spot in the Android Settings app for quick access.
Parents can block specific apps and lock their choices with a PIN so kids can't change them.
This update launches alongside Android 17 and comes as Google boosts its US digital well-being fund to more than $50 million, aiming to help kids and teens build healthier tech habits.
