Government-backed BharatGen to represent India in global project Tapestry
BharatGen, a government-backed artificial intelligence company, is set to represent India in Project Tapestry, a new global push to build advanced artificial intelligence together.
Announced by the AI Alliance, this move puts BharatGen at the center of international efforts to create smarter AI models while making sure countries keep control over their own data.
BharatGen secures ₹988.6cr funding
Project Tapestry brings together teams from the US Japan, France, and now India to develop next-gen AI without giving up anyone's tech independence.
BharatGen, supported by IIT Bombay and the IndiaAI Mission, secured ₹988.6 crore to build language models for 22 Indian languages and sectors like health care and agriculture.
Dr. Yann LeCun, Chief Science Advisor, AI Alliance and Executive Chairman, AMI Labs, said this project is all about open and collaborative progress so every country can shape its own digital future.
