India temporarily blocks Telegram ahead of NEET UG reexam

Ahead of the NEET-UG re-exam on June 21, the Indian government has temporarily blocked Telegram, hoping to stop paper leaks.
The app is now off Google Play and Apple's App Store in India, but Telegram continues to remain operational through Virtual Protocol Network (VPN).
India asks Telegram to disable editing
Telegram was also told to turn off its message-editing feature in India until June 30 to prevent fake exam news from spreading.
CEO Pavel Durov called the ban unfair for over 150 million Indian users and blamed competitive lobbying, though Voyager Infosec Director Jiten Jain said, "Blocking of Telegram will not help the paper leak."
