iQOO 7 wins the 2021 Red Dot Product Design Award
The iQOO 7 smartphone, which was launched in China in January, has won the 2021 Red Dot Award for Product Design. As per the design team, the smartphone was created keeping in mind the user's priorities and scenarios such as long hours of game-play and accidental drops. Visually, the handset harmonizes its looks with the brand's inclination for speed. Here are more details.
The iQOO 7 features a marine aluminium middle frame that can help survive accidental drops and prevent corrosion from oils and perspiration. Thanks to a slightly curved surface, the frame ensures a comfortable grip, which is especially helpful for extended gaming hours. The rear panel adopts a fingerprint-resistant AG frosted glass material which can provide a more transparent and 3D-like design experience.
The iQOO 7 sports a punch-hole design with a slim bottom bezel and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it packs a triple camera module. The smartphone comes with a 6.62-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is offered in three shades: Black, Latent Blue, and Legendary Edition.
The iQOO 7 houses a triple rear camera module comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, a 13MP (f/2.5) telephoto lens, and a 13MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide shooter. For selfies, it has a 16MP (f/2.0) front-facing camera.
The iQOO 7 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 888 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It runs on Android 11-based OriginOS and packs a 4,000mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support. For connectivity, the device offers support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, 5G, NFC, and a Type-C port.
In China, the iQOO 7 is priced at CNY 3,798 (roughly Rs. 44,000) for the 8GB/128GB model and CNY 4,198 (roughly Rs. 48,700) for the 12GB/256GB variant. The device will arrive in India on April 26.
