Jeff Bezos at VivaTech says AI will create labor shortage
At VivaTech 2026, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos shared a surprising take: he thinks AI won't steal jobs. It'll actually create so many new opportunities that we'll end up with a labor shortage.
He believes AI will boost human creativity and make problem-solving easier, saying it's more about opening doors than closing them.
Bezos cites Prometheus and lunar exploration
Bezos pointed to his latest startup, Prometheus, which aims to build an "artificial general engineer" that could invent things we haven't even imagined yet.
He also talked about the environmental impact of AI, especially how much energy data centers use, and urged smart investment in tech infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Bezos sees the moon as key for future exploration and balancing growth on Earth. As he put it, Bezos said lunar exploration would eventually pave the way for settlements on Mars and other destinations.
