Mudasir Ali launched Wildping to alert locals about wildlife sightings
Technology
Mudasir Ali, a software engineer, built a free website called Wildping after losing his mother in a bear attack.
Launched in October 2026, the platform lets people quickly report sightings of animals like Himalayan black bears and leopards, triggering alerts to people nearby so they can stay safe.
Wildping draws about 9,000 visitors
Wildping has attracted around 9,000 visitors in less than a month since its launch and support for English, Hindi, and Urdu, Wildping helps users set up alert zones for homes and schools, much needed as animal encounters rise due to shrinking forests.
Locals like Yasir Iqbal say the alerts are genuinely helpful, "It is a good and useful app that could help save lives by keeping us informed about where wild animals have been spotted."
