NASA invites public to send names to Titan on Dragonfly
Here's a cool chance to make your mark in space: NASA is letting people send their names to Titan, Saturn's moon, on its upcoming Dragonfly mission.
All submitted names will be put upon a chip that travels with the Dragonfly rotorcraft.
You've got until before Jan. 15, 2027, to sign up. The mission launches in 2028 and should reach Titan by 2034, powered by nuclear energy for some serious exploring.
Dragonfly will collect Titan surface samples
Dragonfly isn't just carrying names; it'll fly around Titan for about 3.3 Earth years, checking out places like the Selk impact crater and dunes.
The craft will collect samples and study the chemistry of Titan's surface, looking for clues about how life might start on other worlds.
This mission builds on what we learned from Cassini and Huygens and could help answer big questions about life beyond Earth.
