NASA opens astronaut applications for Artemis Moon base Dec 3
Technology
NASA is looking for fresh faces to join its Artemis program, the big plan to set up a long-term human base on the Moon.
Announced at Kennedy Space Centre, this recruitment aims to boost its small astronaut team, just 32 right now.
If you've ever dreamed of space, applications were open until December 3, 2026.
NASA eligibility rules and training timeline
Getting in isn't easy: last time, over 8,000 people applied and only 10 made the cut.
You'll need to be a US citizen with a college degree and professional work experience.
Those selected go through two years of tough training beginning by early 2028 before joining the next-summer mission, where astronauts will practice docking with SpaceX and Blue Origin lunar landers as part of humanity's next giant leap.
