NASA's Artemis II: Humans heading back toward the Moon

Technology

NASA is getting ready to launch Artemis II in early 2026, sending four astronauts—including Christina Koch, Victor Glover, Reid Wiseman, and Canada's Jeremy Hansen—on a trip around the Moon.
This will be humanity's first deep-space adventure since Apollo, setting the stage for an actual lunar landing with Artemis III in 2027.

What's happening now?

The crew has been suiting up and practicing launch day routines at Kennedy Space Center.
There have been a few hiccups—a hatch issue delayed the dress rehearsal—but NASA is still aiming for liftoff as soon as February (and no later than April).
It's all part of their big push to bring people back to the Moon and beyond.
