Union Budget 2026-27 boosts funding for ECMS

Over the last 11 years, India has witnessed an exponential growth in its electronics manufacturing sector, with production increasing nearly six-fold. The industry has expanded its industrial base and generated 25 lakh jobs. It has become a major contributor to employment generation and economic growth. The Union Budget for 2026-27 also announced an increase in funding for the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) to ₹40,000 crore.
