OPPO cancels Find X10 Ultra as RAM prices rise
Technology
OPPO has pulled the plug on its much-hyped Find X10 Ultra smartphone, thanks to "RAMageddon": sky-high RAM prices making it tough to keep flagship phones affordable.
The phone was set to pack serious camera hardware and top specs, but rising costs forced OPPO to shift gears.
OPPO shifts from Snapdragon to MediaTek
This isn't just about one phone: OPPO has had to rethink its whole strategy.
Its last flagship, the Find X9 Ultra, boasted a Snapdragon chip and 16GB of RAM.
Now, even the new Find X10 Pro Max is dialing things back with a MediaTek processor and 12GB of RAM in most variants instead.
It's a clear sign that expensive parts are changing what brands can offer at the top end.
