Pune-based DeepTek uses AI to detect TB in chest X-rays

Technology

A Pune startup, DeepTek, is making waves by using AI to scan chest X-rays and spot tuberculosis (TB) and 21 other lung diseases within minutes in many cases.
Their tech is helping bridge India's radiologist gap, bringing faster diagnoses even to remote places.

WHO-backed and used across India

The World Health Organization gave DeepTek's AI a thumbs-up for TB screening. It meets top global standards and is certified in Europe.
Right now, it's running in over 500 hospitals and 400 mobile vans—so even offline areas are covered.

Boosting public health with smarter tools

DeepTek's platforms, Augmento and Genki, are already powering big health programs.
By giving radiologists clear reports fast, these tools have helped catch more TB cases than before.

Looking ahead: AI for better healthcare

DeepTek says better infrastructure and data sharing could help scale this impact further.
With support from Tata Capital and partnerships with NTT DATA Japan, they're aiming high—to help wipe out TB by 2030.
