Redmi Note 7S with 48MP camera launched at Rs. 10,999
As the latest addition to its portfolio of Redmi-branded phones, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7S in India today. The phone looks extremely similar to its siblings with a notched display, all-glass body and gradient design. However, with different specifications and camera, it is ideally placed in between the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. Here's our roundup.
Redmi Note 7S: At a glance
Right off the bat, the Redmi Note 7S looks exactly like the Redmi Note 7 with a "Dot notch" display, sizeable bottom bezel, dual rear cameras, and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Further, in terms of display, the phone features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides, and a P2i splash-resistant coating.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
Redmi Note 7S sports a dual-lens rear camera setup with a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor and a 5MP depth sensor - same as Redmi Note 7 Pro. The main camera offers features such as Phase Detection AutoFocus, EIS, and AI Portrait Mode. Up front, it has a 13MP selfie camera that supports AI Portrait mode and AI Face unlock.
Under the hood
The Redmi Note 7S is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage (expandable upto 256GB). Under the hood, it packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4 (18W) fast-charging technology and runs on Android Pie-based MIUI 10.
Redmi Note 7S offers all the latest connectivity options
In terms of connectivity options, the Redmi Note 7S supports dual-SIMs, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and a headphone jack. It also offers all the standard sensors including an accelerometer, ambient light, proximity sensor, e-compass, and an infrared sensor.
Pricing and availability
The Redmi Note 7S costs Rs. 10,999 for the 3GB/32GB model and Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant. It comes in Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue color options. The phone will go on sale online via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores from May 23. It will also be available offline via Mi Studio and Xiaomi partner retail stores in future.
