Snap unveils 1st consumer AR glasses specs with 3D overlays
Technology
Snap Inc. just revealed Specs, its first consumer AR glasses for everyday users.
These new Specs let you see 3D digital stuff layered right onto real life: think directions or reminders floating in front of you.
Unveiled at the Augmented World Expo in California, Specs pack dual Snapdragon chips, a 51-degree field of view, and last up to four hours on a charge.
Snap prices specs at $2,195
Specs cost $2,195 and come with AI tools for things like navigation and productivity.
They're shipping to the US UK and France this September (no India launch yet).
Snap is aiming high with these premium glasses, way pricier than Meta's $299 smart specs, but CEO Evan Spiegel says they're key to Snap's future plans even though the company hasn't turned a profit since going public.
