SpaceX acquires Cursor for $60B all-stock to challenge AI rivals
Technology
SpaceX is making a big move in the AI world by buying Cursor, a company known for its smart coding tools, in a $60 billion all-stock deal.
This is part of SpaceX's huge push to compete with AI giants like OpenAI and Anthropic, and fits into their broader $86 billion war chest to fund its AI push.
Cursor sales jump to $4B
Cursor's platform is already used by big names like NVIDIA and Deloitte, letting developers easily switch between different AI models for writing code.
Their sales jumped from $1 billion last year to $4 billion this year, pretty impressive growth.
Still, SpaceX faces some financial bumps (like losses from earlier AI projects), but analysts think these bold bets could help SpaceX hit $160 billion in revenue by 2028.
