UK launches Titania military satellite to spot threats from space
Technology
The UK launched Titania, a new military satellite designed to spot threats from space and keep the country safer.
It's part of more than £3bn of investment in space capabilities, with Titania circling Earth every 90 minutes and run by UK Space Command.
This follows the earlier Tyche mission in 2024.
Ministry of Defence tests Inaros network
Titania was built by BAE Systems and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in Hampshire, showing off some serious homegrown skills.
The Ministry of Defence is also testing Inaros, a global sensor network, to watch over space even more closely.
Plus, more satellites like Juno and Oberon are expected in the years ahead, all helping create skilled jobs while making UK defenses stronger than ever.
