Vivo iQoo Pro, with Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, goes official

As an addition to its Vivo iQoo series, Chinese tech giant Vivo has launched the all-new iQoo Pro in its home country. The key highlights of the handset include its waterdrop notched design, Super AMOLED display, triple rear cameras, and top-of-the-line internals including the all-new Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. Here's our roundup.

Vivo iQoo Pro is available in 4G and 5G variants

The Vivo iQoo Pro is offered in both 4G and 5G variants. Understandably, both the models share the same design, features, and specifications. However, the 5G variant gets a dedicated 5G SIM slot, while the 4G model comes only with 4G LTE slots.

    At a glance

The Vivo iQoo Pro sports a waterdrop notched design with an ultra-slim bottom bezel and offers 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. On the rear, the glass panel with glossy finish houses triple cameras and LED flash. The smartphone comes with a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and an under-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

The Vivo iQoo Pro houses a trio of sensors including a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor, 13MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, the phone sports a 12MP (f/2.0) front-facing shooter housed in the display cut-out. Moreover, the main camera supports 4K video recording at upto 60fps, while the selfie camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

    Under the hood

The Vivo iQoo Pro is powered by top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor, paired with upto 12GB RAM and upto 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The handset runs Android Pie-based FuntouchOS 9.1 and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 44W fast-charging support. Furthermore, it gets all standard sensors and latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Here's a look at the pricing

As for the pocket pinch, the 4G variant of the Vivo iQoo Pro starts at CNY 3,198 (approximately Rs. 32,300) for the 8GB/128GB model and CNY 3,498 (approximately Rs. 35,300) for the 12GB/128GB variant. The 5G model, on the other hand, starts at CNY 3,798 (approximately Rs. 38,400) for 8GB/128GB model and goes upto CNY 4,098 (approximately Rs. 41,400) for the top-end 12GB/128GB variant.

    Finally, what about availability?

The 4G variant of the Vivo iQoo Pro is set to go on sale in China starting August 29, while the 5G model will be up for grabs starting September 2. Meanwhile, there is no word about the smartphone's availability outside China at the moment.
