White House app to be installed automatically on DHS phones
The White House app is about to show up automatically on all Department of Homeland Security (DHS) work phones.
Launched in March 2026, it's designed as a one-stop spot for Trump administration news: think breaking alerts, live streams, speeches, and executive action updates.
Employees can even send feedback, including by voice, directly through the app.
App raises privacy and security concerns
But not everyone's thrilled. The app collects information like IP addresses and time zones, sharing some data with third parties without the usual transparency.
Sonny Hashmi, a former federal IT executive, pointed out that this kind of forced installation could open backdoors into government networks.
Despite concerns, federal agencies, including the FAA, are already set to get the app as a convenient way to access official White House communications.
