Xiaomi to launch Redmi Note 7, Note 7 Pro today

Thanks to leaks and official teasers, we know Xiaomi would launch Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphones in India today. The launch event will start at 12pm and will be live streamed across all social media accounts of Xiaomi. Notably, while Redmi Note 7 is already available in China, the Pro model will likely see a global launch today. Here's more.

Design & display
Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro: At a glance

According to the renders, Redmi Note 7 Pro will retain the design of Redmi Note 7. It will feature a waterdrop notched screen, gradient design, dual rear-camera setup, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the Pro variant will sport the 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection - same as the Redmi Note 7.

Camera
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

As per the official teasers, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will feature a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and another sensor for capturing depth information. In comparison, the regular Redmi Note 7 sports a 48MP (f/1.7) Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor, paired with a 5MP secondary sensor.

Internals
Under the hood

As per teasers, the upcoming Redmi Note 7 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset - an upgrade from the Snapdragon 660 processor on Redmi Note 7. Further, the Pro variant is also expected to offer upto 6GB RAM and upto 128GB of storage. Lastly, it is likely to house a 4,000mAh battery - same as the regular Redmi Note 7.

Unofficial
Pricing and availability

According to sources, the Redmi Note 7 Pro could be priced anywhere between CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs. 15,900) and CNY 2,000 (approx. Rs. 21,200). Further, the non-Pro model is expected to launch in India at around Rs. 15,000. To recall, Redmi Note 7 was launched in China last year at a starting price of CNY 999 (approx. Rs. 10,600) for the 3GB/32GB base model.
