What's the story
Towhid Hridoy has etched his name in the history books by scoring an unbeaten 242, the highest ever Test score by a Bangladeshi cricketer. His innings helped Bangladesh take a first-innings lead of 30 runs over West Indies on day three of the second Test in Sylhet. The day's play was cut short due to bad light, with West Indies at seven for no loss in their second innings, trailing by 23 runs.
Eighth-wicket stand
A historic knock from Hridoy
Bangladesh resumed the day at 88/3.
Hridoy's 71-run stand alongside veteran Mushfiqur Rahim (34) took the hosts past 120.
However, another collapse left Bangladesh reeling at 184/7.
Hridoy then formed an important 117-run eighth-wicket partnership with Taijul Islam, who contributed 22 runs.
Despite being hit on the ribs by a short ball from Jayden Seales in the 85th over, Hridoy continued to play aggressively and reached his double hundred in the 100th over.
