Saifuddin's return and Ankon's debut
Saifuddin was part of Bangladesh's recent T20I series against Afghanistan in Sharjah, which the visitors won 3-0. However, Ankon is yet to make his T20I debut. He has played a Test and three ODIs for Bangladesh so far. Meanwhile, chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain confirmed that Taskin Ahmed is unavailable for selection as he is currently playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.

Hossain clarifies selection decisions
Hossain clarified that Taskin has an NOC and is not available to play for Bangladesh. He said, "We know that he will play for Bangladesh whenever we ask him to, but we are well aware of the plans." Notably, Taskin is one of only three Bangladesh players with 100-plus wickets in T20I cricket. The selector also revealed that all-rounder Shamim Hossain has been left out of the squad for these two T20Is.
