The most talented yet unluckiest fringe Australian player in the modern era, Brad Hodge's international career is a symbolism of Australia's dominance and related competition in the team in the first decade of this century. His debut in first-class cricket was at the age of 19 for Victorian Bushrangers in the 1993-94 season. Hodge had to wait for 11 years after his first-class debut to make his international debut. He made both his Test and ODI debuts in 2005 but never had a consistent run in international cricket. Hodge played his last ODI match in 2007 and last Test match in 2008. In 2009, he retired from first-class to concentrate on limited-overs cricket. Considered a legend in the Australian domestic circuit, Hodge retired from all formats of cricket in 2018. In a career lasting 25 years, Hodge scored a whopping 33,000 runs in domestic cricket. After his stint as a player, he began appearing in coaching roles.
