What's the story

South African cricketer Quinton de Kock recently became the second-fastest player in history to reach 7,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He achieved the feat in his 158th innings, during the third and final ODI against Pakistan at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The achievement comes as a major milestone for de Kock, who returned to ODIs after two years. Here we take a look at the fastest players to reach 7,000 ODI runs.

He has now raced to 7,009 runs at an average of 46.72. His tally includes 22 centuries and 32 fifties.

Kane Williamson - 159 innings

Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who is also his team's leading run-scorer across formats, is third on this list. He reached the 7,000-run mark in just 159 innings. Williamson has played 175 ODIs for New Zealand so far. He owns 7,256 runs at an average of 48.69. The star batter has smashed 15 tons and 47 fifties in the format.
