WPL auction: Gujarat Giants land Georgia Wareham for ₹1 crore

The Gujarat Giants roped in Georgia Wareham for a whopping ₹1 crore in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. The Giants made an opening bid of ₹50 lakh. Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women showed interest and got the bid up to ₹95 lakh. However, GG had the last say, picking up the player for ₹1 crore. Here's more.

A look at Wareham's WT20I and WPL stats
The 28-year-old Australian owns 71 Women's T20I wickets from 69 matches at an average of 16.32. Notably, Wareham has picked up 20 wickets in WPL from 20 matches at 26.05. She had played for GG in the inaugural WPL season in 2022. She moved to RCB Women next and took 7 and 12 wickets respectively across the next two campaigns.
